General Hospital continues to shake things up when it comes to the cast. Maxie (Kirsten Storms) collapsing has brought up a burning question about the fan-favorite character.
The incident was first teased in theGeneral Hospital weekly promo. Now that viewers have watched it play out, it begs the question of whether this is the end of the road for the legacy character.
Is Maxie Leaving General Hospital?
Yes, Maxie is leaving General Hospital, and what is happening now is leading up to her exit. As Paradereported, Storms has opted to take a leave of absence after 20 years as Maxie.
The actress has left Los Angeles and moved to Nashville with her daughter, Harper. Storms shares Harper with her ex-husband and Days of Our Lives alum Brandon Barash, who Storms fiercely defended after she announced her big move.
Even though Storms has revealed her exit isn’t permanent, she did confirm that she and Maxie will be off-screen for the rest of the year. General Hospital fans have been supportive of Storms’ decision to leave.
How Will Maxie Exit General Hospital?
General Hospital is keeping Maxie’s departure close to the vest. What we do know is her collapse has kicked off the character’s exit and comes just as Maxie’s dead baby daddy, Nathan (Ryan Paevey), may be returning to Port Charles.
Paevey confirmed he was back filming General Hospital. However, he didn’t say who he was playing or when he would be on-screen. Since Storms has wrapped filming and Paevey just began, their characters won’t cross paths.
Fans have a couple of theories floating around about what’s wrong with Maxie.
“BJ’s heart has had enough of Maxie. Is this how Lulu and Brook Lynn make peace?” wrote one fan on X.
Another fan thinks Sidwell (Carlo Rota) had something to do with it, and Maxie was poisoned. “Groundbreaking formula?! Maxie collapses after trying the night mask product. That has to be Sidwell and said ‘ingredient’. #GH,” read the X.
