Rhode Island Comic Con 2025 is now less than 90 days away, and this year’s event is stacking up the special guests.
We previously learned Henry Winkler will be attending.
Whether you know him as Fonzie from “Happy Days,” or as Coach Klein in “The Waterboy,” or as Gene Cousineau in “Barry,” you can meet him this November.
Obviously, Winkler is known for a slew of other roles and characters, too.
He’s also an accomplished children’s author.
As part of a first-ever “Reunion Week,” RICC also announced reunions for “The Land of the Lost,” “Psych,” “Cobra Kai,” “Degrassi: The Next Generation” and “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.”
I’ve also noticed something special about this year’s celebrity guest lineup: the crossovers, particularly in the photo-op selections.
Chevy Chase and Geena Davis will pose for a “Fletch” photo.
Or, Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon will pose for a “Thelma & Louise” photo.
Or, Geena Davis will take a photo with Lori Petty, Bitty Schram, and Megan Cavanagh, her co-stars in “A League of Their Own.”
Rosario Dawson is teaming up with Eman Esfandi to promote “Ashoka.”
Dawson is also set to take photos with Jesse Martin, who she acted with in “Rent.”
Dawson is also listed as part of four different “Clerks” group photo-ops, for her role as Becky Scott in “Clerks II.”
Speaking of “Clerks,” director Kevin Smith is set to appear in photos for that movie, the follow up “Mallrats” and the aforementioned “Degrassi” group photo.
He appeared in three episodes of “Degrassi.”
Actor Jason Lee is in those “Mallrats” photos, too. He’s also a part of three separate options for fans of “My Name Is Earl.”
Michael Rooker, in addition to “Mallrats” photos, is part of a “Guardians of the Galaxy” team-up with Sean Gunn.
Whatever your fandom, you’re likely to multiple ways to celebrate it at Rhode Island Comic Con.
Another notable group of guests: Antony Starr, Colby Minifie, and Valorie Curry from Amazon Prime’s “The Boys.”
The fifth and final season of the show just wrapped filming and is expected to premiere next year.
The spinoff, “Gen V,” premieres its second season in September.
In another first, I’m faily certain my parents will be making their way to the convention.
My mother is a big fan of “Pretty in Pink.”
I mean, who’s not?
To that end, I’m sure I’ll have to make sure she finds the panel with Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer and Andrew McCarthy.
I hope there’s a panel, anyway.
We’ll know for sure, closer to the convention.
We should also start to learn more soon about the special events planned in and around RICC.
Organizers have been leaning into guest announcements at a solid clip, through the summer.
Rhode Island Comic Con is Nov. 7-9 at the Rhode Island Convention Center and the Amica Mutual Pavilion.
Tickets are available now.
