Justin Baldoni’s lawyers responded to Isabela Ferrer’s claims that he “harassed her” with his attempts to subpoena her in his ongoing legal fight involving Blake Lively and It Ends With Us.
“We write in response to Isabela Ferrer’s opposition to the Wayfarer Parties’ motion to serve her by alternative means,” Baldoni’s legal team wrote in a letter on Monday, August 18, to Judge Lewis J. Liman, per E! News. “The opposition is primarily an inappropriate attack upon Mr. Baldoni and his counsel… and irrelevant to whether Ms. Ferrer should be served via alternative means.”
According to the outlet, the letter further claimed that Lively’s counsel subpoenaed Ferrer, 24, “first” in February and her lawyer, Sanford Michelman, accepted the subpoena on her behalf.
Baldoni’s team argued that Lively, 37, “should not be permitted to obtain discovery from Ms. Ferrer, while Ms. Ferrer and her counsel frustrate all effort by the Wayfarer Parties to obtain the discovery critical to the preparation of their defense.”
Ferrer, who played the younger version of Lively’s character, Lily Bloom, in It Ends With Us, previously accused Baldoni of trying to “manipulate, threaten, control and otherwise act inappropriately” towards her.
“Unfortunately, the Motion is just the latest in a broader pattern of conduct by Baldoni to bully Ms. Ferrer,” Ferrer’s attorneys stated in court documents obtained by Us Weekly on August 18. “While Ms. Ferrer will faithfully comply with her legal obligations under any subpoena, summons or court order, she obviously will not be intimidated or extorted by any party to otherwise participate in the proceedings.”
The former Gossip Girl star and Baldoni’s legal battle began in December 2024 after Lively claimed that Baldoni had sexually harassed her on the set of It Ends With Us and then allegedly organized a smear campaign against her online in retaliation. Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively for the claims, but it was dismissed by a judge in June. Lively’s case is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.
