KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – El Capitan is back in the lineup for the Kansas City Royals.
After missing the first two games of the Royals’ four-game series against the Texas Rangers due to what the organization called an illness, catcher Salvador Perez will be back in action Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium.
The Royals won both games, extending their win streak to five games with a 5-2 win over the Rangers on Tuesday night. During the homestand, Kansas City has gone 7-1, cutting its deficit for an AL Wild Card spot to 2.5 games entering Wednesday.

Perez is slated to catch again after backup Luke Maile got back-to-back starts in his place. The Royals star will hit fifth in the lineup as well.
