It would be criminally unfair to call Ann Wilson, 75, the lead singer of the immeasurably successful rock band Heart, anything other than resilient these past two years. The “Barracuda” singer has survived multiple setbacks as of late. Just before embarking on her 2024 Royal Flush Tour, Wilson learned she had cancer and underwent several surgeries and rounds of chemo. In a statement on Instagram, Wilson said:
“I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous. The operation was successful and I’m feeling great, but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy and I’ve decided to do it. And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”
By September of that same year, Wilson announced she had completed her treatment and was excited to get back on the road in 2025. Then, after kicking her tour off in February, the singer suffered an arm injury after a fall in a parking lot that left her singing on stage with a sling and in a wheelchair.
Despite these hard setbacks, Wilson and her sister Nancy Wilson, 71, have been giving their shows all they’ve got. At a recent performance, Wilson was filmed standing during her performance of “Alone” and blew fans away with her sound and resilience.
Wilson Left Fans in Total Awe
Though visibly shaking, Wilson delivered a truly captivating performance. Many fans showered her with compliments regarding how incredible she looks, they focused more on how powerful and beautiful her voice still sounds.
“One of the best live voices I’ve ever heard,” a fan proclaimed.
“Love Heart. I regret never seeing them live,” stated another.
“She will always be a rockstar, my favorite female voice,” asserted another.
Many also expressed concern that she was overexerting herself but ultimately were intent on cherishing whatever talent she is still putting out into the world.
Heart currently has shows scheduled through the end of December 2025. While they haven’t confirmed what 2026 holds for them, fans are already on standby.
