(NewsNation) — HGTV announced Thursday more than 100 episodes from various shows will air in 2026.
This announcement follows backlash on the network’s programming choices, especially following the recent cancellation of seven series.
The network revealed it has renewed shows, including “The Flip Off,” after uncertainty that the show, which stars Christina Haack and ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, would return, according to People magazine.

In June, the network canceled “Battle on the Beach” starring Alison Victoria but said it plans to keep Victoria in the HGTV family for a new show called “Sin City Rehab.”
Additionally, fan favorite shows like “Love It or List It” and “Renovation Aloha” will also air new episodes.
HGTV’s struggles led to the cancellation of big shows
This summer, as part of cost-cutting measures, HGTV canceled several of its series, including “Christina on the Coast,” starring Christina Hall; “The Flipping El Moussas”; “Farmhouse Fixer”; “Married to Real Estate;” “Bargain Block;” and “Izzy Does It,” Deadline reported.
The rising costs of home renovation materials, which are expected to become more expensive due to tariffs, as well as falling ratings, have led the network to reevaluate its brand.

“Home reno shows are expensive because all of the materials are jacked up and on delay, the price of wood and marble and everything else is going up so these shows don’t make as much sense anymore,” a source told Deadline.

According to Deadline, HGTV home renovation shows can cost upward of $500,000.
HGTV show cancellations trigger backlash
When HGTV canceled “Bargain Block” in June, the show’s star, Keith Bynum, took to Instagram and blasted the network, writing, “Tv is full of a lot of great people but it’s also full of some of the worst people I’ve ever encountered.”
He added, “The last six months have been a pretty wild journey,” Bynum said. “Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist lol. Though you may not be seeing us for much longer on HGTV, we’re excited that we’ve built such an amazing base of followers and we’re very excited about the future.”
