After Guy Ritchie’s stellar film The Gentlemen shot into every man you know’s ‘Top 10 films’ list, the world expanded with a Netflix series of the same name. And then that shot into every man you know’s ‘Top 10 TV shows’ list, and was commissioned for a season two.
It’s got family tension, dark humor and gloriously British idiosyncrasies, all of which make it a brilliant crime drama for your must-watch list. What will happen in The Gentleman season 2?
Season 1 followed aristocrat Eddie (played by Theo James), who inherits the family estate after his father’s death, and is shocked to discover millions of pounds worth of weed is growing on the land. With Susie Glass and her father Bobby at the helm (played by Kaya Scodelario and Ray Winstone), Eddie finds himself immersed in a world of criminality and gangs, while trying to get them off his family’s estate.
Only, er, by the end of the season, he’s changed his mind and makes a deal with the devil, instead going into business with Susie. As the official plot synopsis for the new season explains,
“It’s been one year since Eddie and Susie joined forces to work together in Bobby’s criminal empire overseas. As they drive to expand their enterprise, the decisions Bobby is making seem to be increasingly unsound. Now Eddie and Susie must decide whether to take action or risk losing it all, but unfettered ambition never ends well…”
