Lil Nas X was reportedly charged with four felonies after being hospitalized and roaming the streets of Los Angeles in his underwear.
TMZ reported on Monday, August 25, that the rapper, 26, has been charged by the L.A. County District Attorney with four felonies, including battery with injury on a police officer. According to the outlet, Lil Nas X charged the officers when authorities confronted him last week. Bail has not been set, but TMZ reported that he is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
On Thursday, August 21, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to Us Weekly that officers responded to calls about a “nude man walking in the street” on Ventura Boulevard just before 6 a.m. While the LAPD initially declined to identify the man, the spokesperson said the suspect tried to “batter an officer, so he was booked for battery of a [peace officer].”
Earlier that day, TMZ identified the suspect as Lil Nas X (real name Montero Lamar Hill) and reported that he was transferred by police to a hospital for treatment.
According to the outlet and viral footage, Lil Nas X was seen placing a traffic cone over his head as he muttered about going to a party.

The rapper’s hospitalization and arrest comes nearly four months after dealing with a health scare in which he “lost control” of half of his face.
“Soooo lost control of the right side of my face 😭,” Lil Nas X shared in a since-deleted Instagram video in April, where he showed how the right side of his face while smiling was immobile compared with his left. “I can’t even laugh, bro! What the f***? Oh, my God.”
A few days later, Lil Nas X shared that he had “been chewing a lot” to get his “muscle stronger” on his face.

“It’s much better, it’s much better,” he said in an Instagram video. “It’s much better, it’s much better. My eye still has to play catchup. But like, but like I can give a genuine smile, so that’s good.”
Lil Nas X, who rose to fame with his single “Old Town Road” in early 2019, has previously opened up about the difficulty of dealing with addiction and death in the rap community and with his own family.
“So much happened during my rise. You know, drugs and murders,” Lil Nas X told Variety in January 2020 referencing the murders of Nipsey Hussle and XXXTentacion and the fatal overdose of Juice Wrld. “And my grandmother passing [in 2018] — she was the first person close to me who died. It was devastating. And it made me a hypochondriac: I’d wake up, heart racing. It was scary.”
Lil Nas X said he turned to “smoking [weed] heavily” to cope with all the loss.
“But then I started feeling more connected with the universe, and taking everything as a sign,” he explained to the outlet.
