Today was a fairy tale for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as they gear up for the next chapter of their lives.
Swift, 35, broke the news that she and Kelce, 35, were engaged via Instagram on Tuesday, August 26.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” she captioned the carousel of five photos. One image offered a closer look at Swift’s gold old mine brilliant cut engagement ring designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
The couple got engaged in a flower-filled forest, seemingly making all of Swift’s dreams come true. News of the proposal came weeks after the singer appeared on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast to discuss what made their relationship more special than her past romances.
“This podcast has done a lot for me,” she said at the time. “This podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app two years ago.”
Kelce famously used a July 2023 episode of the podcast to share his disappointment with not meeting Swift and giving her his phone number during her Eras Tour in Kansas City.
“This was more like I was in an ’80s John Hughes movie and he was just standing outside of my window with a boombox just being like, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to date me!?’” she said of his romantic gesture. “So I was like, ‘If this guy isn’t crazy, which is a big if, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about what I’ve been wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.’”
