Neil Young and his band the chrome hearts debuted a new anti-Trump protest song called “Big Crime” during their Chicago concert on Wednesday. The stomping anthem calls to “clean the White House out” and takes direct aim at the Trump administration’s takeover of Washington, DC’s law enforcement (and, now, Union Station): “Don’t want soldiers on our streets/ There’s big crime in DC at the White House.”
In addition to fan-shot footage popping up on YouTube (watch below), Young posted the complete audio of the soundcheck as well as the track’s lyrics on his Neil Young Archives. “No more money to the fascists/ The billionaire fascists,” he sings, tying the new song to his other recent takedowns of the millionaire class like “Let’s Roll Again” and “If You’re a Fascist, Get a Tesla.” “Time to blackout the system/ No more great again…./ Time to blackout the system.” Find the complete lyrics copied ahead.
It wasn’t the only protest song on the setlist, either; a three-song run of “Be the Rain,” “Southern Man,” and “Ohio,” came early in the show, while “Big Crime” was preceded by “Sun Green.” The show came in the middle of Young and the chrome hearts’ North American tour, a trek Young wasn’t even confident he’d be able to take after fearing Trump would bar him from returning to the country. After hearing “Big Crime,” we’ll guess Trump won’t be inviting Young to the Kennedy Center anytime soon, either.

Earlier this year, Young was one of many musicians who backed Bruce Springsteen after the Boss piqued POTUS’ ire with a number of speeches during his European concerts. “I am not scared of you. Neither are the rest of us,” Young said at the time. “You shut down FEMA when we needed it most. That’s your problem Trump. STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING. Think about saving America from the mess you made.”
