New Madame Web photos showcasing Sydney Sweeney’s Spider-Woman costume have been revealed.
Marvel and Sony Pictures’ Madame Web was released in United States theaters in February 2024. Directed by S. J. Clarkson, the Sony’s Spider-Man Universe flick stars Dakota Johnson as the titular character, Sweeney as Julia Cornwall, Isabela Merced as Anya Corazón, and Celeste O’Connor as Mattie Franklin.
Who do we see in the Madame Web photos?
Sweeney, Merced, and O’Connor only very briefly don their superhero costumes during Madame Web, a film that was not received well by fans or critics; however, @NebsGoodTakes recently posted new images showing off some unseen looks of the Spider-Women outfits. That post has since been deleted.
Now, however, @variablelace shared a handful of Madame Web photos that better show off the costumes. View them below:
The official synopsis for the movie reads, “In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel Publishing’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who develops the power to see the future… and realizes she can use that insight to change it. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women bound for powerful destinies…if they can all survive a deadly present.”
Madame Web was considered to be a box-office failure, as the movie only made around $100.5 million globally. It also won three Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Actress, and Worst Screenplay.
As of now, there don’t appear to be any new Sony’s Spider-Man Universe movies that are in development. There is a television show, Spider-Noir, coming at some point that stars Nicolas Cage and Lamorne Morris, though a premiere date has not yet been announced.
Madame Web is currently available to stream on Netflix.
