Tammy Slaton is addressing online concerns.
After the 1000-Lb. Sisters star shared a video of herself and her fiancée Andrea Dalton singing along to Kenny Loggins’ Footloose in the car, fans couldn’t help but notice that she seemed to have some bruising on her chin.
“Are you OK?” one user commented underneath the Aug. 28 TikTok video. “What happened to your chin?”
In response, Tammy explained, “I had teeth pulled.”
After all, the 39-year-old recently was recently faced with criticism after she debuted her new set of teeth after having a bridge installed to fill in some of her missing teeth.
“Haters make me famous,” said on an Aug. 19 episode of the Creative Chaos podcast, adding of her procedure, “They’re temporary still. They had to cement them in cause the glue wasn’t holding. My body was rejecting it. They had to pull teeth and it’s a bridge. I’m still getting more done. It’s a process.”

According to Tammy, the bridge—which is a false tooth that’s anchored to adjacent natural teeth to bridge the gap in an individual’s smile—has made a slight change in her voice.
“I have a lisp now,” she shared at the time. “It will go away eventually. The only way I think my voice might have changed is cause I’m happier.”
Aside from her ongoing journey to achieve the perfect smile, Tammy’s latest video marks her first since the tragic passing of her and Amy Slaton’s cousin Katie Slaton—who appeared alongside her cousins on the TLC series on multiple occasions—following a battle with stage 4 cancer.

“It is with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this,” Tammy and Amy’s sister Amanda Halterman wrote on Instagram August 26. “My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday. She was a force to be reckoned with and showed love that was accepting and given freely. She was the life of the party and my best friend.”
“I know both our grandparents and friends was there to welcome you home,” she continued. “Please pray for everyone whom loves her. Thank you all who has come out and supported her.”
An obituary posted online for Katie also shared, “She enjoyed fishing, music, and hanging out with family and friends.”

Sharing Her Journey
Since 2020, TLC viewers have watched Tammy Slaton‘s journey on 1000-lb. Sisters. She underwent bariatric surgery in mid-2022 and since then, fans have continued to witness her transformation on TV and on social media.
As of August 2024, she has lost 500 pounds.

After months of setbacks that prevented Tammy from being approved for skin removal surgery, she was finally given the green light for the procedure.

One month after Tammy revealed her new look following her skin removal surgery, she shared a series of selfies from her life as of late.
Included in the July 2025 update, she showed off her new figure in a skin-tight body suit as she smiled at the camera.
