The world’s largest travelling film festival rooted in India, the Jagran Film Festival was launched back in 2010 with the mission to foster the culture of cinema beyond the metros by creating a platform for film makers, actors and movie buffs to come together and interact closely. As for the displays, an expert panel previews all the entries that come in, and then shortlist 500 movies from the lot that are then screened at the festival for over 100 days.
5. Ziro Music Festival

Since its inception in 2012, the four-day festival, which takes place 5,500 feet up in the stunning Ziro Valley, has been hosted by the local Apatani tribe. This year’s lineup includes promising names like Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Chorun Mugli, Farhan Echoes, Lee Ranaldo, Mannequin Death Squad, Taba Chake and more. Other than the performances, visitors can also seek entertainment from some dance and movement classes, tapestry making, indigenous music workshops, village walks, birdwatching and more.
