Adult content creators Annie Knight and Sophie Rain are at the center of a new feud revolving around OnlyFans — and whether or not they have “morals.”
The back-and-forth began when Rain, 20, made an appearance on the “Bangin Out” podcast in August and explained the difference between the content she and the Bop House creates versus stars in the “competitive sex” space. (Us Weekly exclusively broke the news in July that Rain would be leaving the Bop House.)
“Everyone just immediately assumes that we do porn. I think the most that any of us has shown is a really scandalous bikini top. We don’t do a lot and that’s also why I feel like the term ‘bop’ came around because we’re not your average porn star that everyone thinks. We’re not doing what Bonnie Blue is doing, we’re doing something different,” Rain said at the time. “You can be successful without crossing that line, still having your morals and everything.”
Rain, who previously shared that she has earned $82 million, noted that she’s a virgin. She added, “I don’t do anything crazy on my site.”
Knight, for her part, claimed that Rain is “creating an entirely false narrative which is teaching young women that if they join OnlyFans and post bikini photos, with no explicit content, they will make $80 million.”
“She’s flat out lying about the type of content she creates, claiming she has only ever posted bikini photos when there are strip teases and full nudes featured on her page,” Knight alleged in a statement to Us. “She’s also lying about the amount of money she earns, using fake screenshots claiming she’s earned $80 million in 18 months, by only selling bikini photos.”
Knight, who went viral for having sex with 583 men in six hours, noted that being an OnlyFans creator is “not easy.” (Knight was hospitalized after her event, but has since assured Us that she’s on the mend.)
“We face criticism every single day, it affects our family and our friends, your life suddenly becomes open to Brittany and criticism from people that don’t even know you, you have to hustle every single day,” she said. “It’s also a 24/7 job, you need to be posting on every single social media platform multiple times a day, which means creating hundreds of pieces of different style content per week.”
Knight shared that she was “really annoyed” that Rain was suggesting “anyone who does sex work doesn’t have morals.”
“She spoke about the stigma around Only Fans which I found quiet ironic as she is creating even more stigma for people in the sex work industry by claiming that they don’t have morals, and trying to create a divide between Only Fans and sex work,” Knight said.
Knight continued, “To be totally honest, I think it’s completely bullshit. There are very few people in the world who have become successful on Only Fans by not posting explicit content. Sophie is not included in this group of people as she does explicit content.”
Knight noted that Rain “needs to have a look in the mirror” because “she is essentially saying that she doesn’t have morals.”
“I post explicit content and I have morals, I believe in right and wrong, I believe in individuality and sexuality and everyone having a right to express themselves,” Knight concluded. “I believe in being kind, considerate, understanding and non judgemental. These are strong morals. So I think her statement is false in every respect.”
Knight isn’t the only person to question Rain’s earnings.
“To me, it’s kind of lame that dudes is giving her 50M’s, bro … they’re over there in their little room being weird,” Michael Porter Jr. said on Friday, August 29, during a Twitch livestream.
The Brooklyn Nets forward clarified that he wasn’t judging Rain, before wondering about the authenticity of her account. “They’re probably talking to some dude in the Philippines who’s running her account,” he speculated, noting that he had never been an OnlyFans user himself.
Rain went on to defend her account and income. “They love to act like it’s all smoke and mirrors, but no one was handing me a contract, a trainer, and a brand deal at 19,” she said, per Complex. “I worked 14-hour days, answered every DM, edited every post. Nobody faked that grind.”
