The trailer for Alien: Earth Season 1 Episode 6, titled “The Fly,” teases escalating conflict and dire consequences. FX describes the episode. “Tensions rise as powerful enemies confront each other, a dangerous plan unfolds, and curiosity leads to deadly consequences.” The promo ends with the voiceover, “FX’s Alien Earth. All new next Tuesday at 8 on FX and Hulu.”
Episode 5, “In Space, No One…,” revealed the truth about the Yutani Maginot ship’s crash. Showrunner Noah Hawley explained that Boy Kavalier orchestrated the sabotage to obtain alien specimens, saying, “He has all these ideas. He chases all of them at the same time. And he has never failed. So he thinks failure is impossible” (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Hawley also noted that the recklessness of the plan reflected real-world tech billionaires: “It’s a statement, on some level, about the hubris we’re seeing around us by people who think they can go to space, re-invent travel, drill in the earth and enter politics.”
The episode functioned as a mini-Alien film, recreating Nostromo-like interiors and delivering extended Xenomorph horror sequences. Hawley said his goal was to merge new elements with classic franchise beats: “It’s like by the time the xenomorph enters the story, you’re six tragedies deep with these other creatures.
Then the xenomorph arrives and it just escalates.” Actor Babou Ceesay, as Morrow, anchored the story, while the ensemble included Richa Moorjani, Karen Aldridge, Andy Yu, and Michael Smiley.
The promo for Episode 6 suggests the story shifts back to Neverland, where Wendy and other characters navigate a battle of wits against Boy Kavalier. Fans online highlighted glimpses of new alien species, with one noting, “Finally get a reveal of alien species 5. …and it flies.” Another comment pointed to a facehugger attack, while others referenced potential Plumbican sightings.
