The Bachelor in Paradise season 10 drama is continuing offscreen … and alum Nick Viall is stirring the pot.
“I want to read you a DM I got from one of your peers,” Nick, 44, told Kat Izzo on the Wednesday, September 3, episode of the “Viall Files” podcast.
As Kat, 29, shared that she’s “so scared” for what Nick was about to read, he admitted that the message was “harsh” and was “probably” going to hurt her feelings. Nick noted that he was sharing the message as a “heads-up” since the contestants were gathering to record the season 10 reunion.
Nick shared that he received a message from Parisa Shifteh a couple weeks ago, which read, “Kat was a bully the entire time in Paradise. Everyone was scared of her so nobody ever said anything or stood up to her.”
As Nick put down his phone, Kat encouraged him to finish reading the DM — but Nick’s cohost and wife, Natalie Joy, alleged that Parisa, 30, was “pitching” herself to come on the podcast. Nick noted that Parisa also wanted to “speak up” about her connection, Brian Autz, claiming that there were “so many things” that were not shown on Bachelor in Paradise.
Kat appeared shocked by Parisa’s claim, turning to boyfriend and fellow season 10 contestant Dale Moss to ask whether he perceived her to be a bully. “No, I don’t think you’re a bully. But it’s not that deep,” Dale, 36, replied with a smile. “At the end of the day, people are going to have opinions.”
As Kat tried to hold back tears, she claimed that Parisa was coming to her for advice about Brian and said she was “confused” by the DM. While wiping tears from her eyes, Kat said, “I just don’t know what’s real or not.”
“I saw a lot of myself in her and I think she had a little bit of anxious … I could understand, maybe, where [Brian] was coming from,” Kat said. “We would get ready for [the] rose ceremony and stuff, too. We were in the room even with Allyshia [Gupta].”
Kat shared that her “intentions are always to help people,” explaining that she’s Italian and cares “very deeply” — which can sometimes make her be “perceived” a certain way. She added that “nobody” reached out about having a conversation about their friendship.
“Nobody tells me how they’re feeling. If I’m making you feel that way, I’d love for you to say, ‘Hey, you made me feel this way. Let’s talk about it.’ Before just putting a characteristic to me or saying things with so much intensity, so publicly,” she said, while Dale added, “But then it doesn’t give them the attention.”
Nick noted that he read the DM and wondered why Kat being an alleged “bully” wasn’t shown on the season. He alleged, “I’ve seen people made to be villains over nothing, so if you were in fact a bully, I was surprised not to have seen that.”
Kat, Dale, Parisa, Brian and Allyshia are set to reunite with their costars on the Bachelor in Paradise season 10 reunion, which airs exclusively on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast on Thursday, September 4, at 2 a.m. ET and Friday, September 5. Both episodes can be streamed on the Bachelor Nation YouTube channel on Saturday, September 6.
