Iconic 1990s band Portishead — pioneers of the Bristol trip-hop scene whose debut album Dummy shifted the musical landscape in the mid‑’90s — is reuniting this month for a cause they are “honored” to be a part of — the Together for Palestine concert being organized by legendary music producer and musician Brian Eno. It is taking place on Wednesday, September 17, at Wembley Arena in London. The event is sold out, but you can support the efforts by making a donation or purchasing merchandise.
“We are incredibly honored to stand in solidarity with Palestine and be part of this crucial event. The genocide must stop,” said the band in a press release.

Portishead is an MTV Music Awards-nominated British electronic band best known for hits “Sour Times,” “Glory Box,” “All Mine,” “Over” and “Only You.” The band released their third studio album, Third, in 2008, but the three members — Beth Gibbons (vocals), Geoff Barrow (multiple instruments) and Adrian Utley (guitar) — went their own ways to focus on solo projects a few years later. They reunited in 2022 for a UK benefit concert for Ukrainian refugees, which was their first performance in seven years. Now, three years later, they are reuniting again for a benefit concert.

All the funds raised from the Together for Palestine event will go to Choose Love, a UK-based charity that supports various organizations in conflict zones.
“Together we can raise millions in urgently needed aid for families in Gaza. Every penny donated will go to supporting Palestinian-led humanitarian organizations saving lives under fire,” reads the Together for Palestine website.

“Together For Palestine will be a moment in history that we look back on and say we stood on the side of humanity, and I am honoured to be involved,” said Jamil in a statement. “It will be a night of music and hope, standing together with the Palestinian people. Working with Choose Love means the world to me, and all the money raised will go to Palestinian-led partners providing life-saving support and humanitarian aid.”
Pearce added, “I feel utterly heartbroken every day witnessing the atrocities inflicted upon the innocent people of Palestine. It’s hard not to feel helpless. Being part of this concert will enable me to share my heart with others who also see the injustice in these horrific crimes. More importantly, it enables me to show my support for and to the people of Gaza, and all those subjected to this brutal genocide. Hopefully, this concert encourages more people to stand up and speak out.”
