Reality star and internet celebrity Rolling Ray has passed away at the age of 28.
On September 3, 2025, his mother broke the devastating news in a social media post, sharing, “It is with a heavy, heavy heart that I let you know that my son Ray Ray (@Iamrollingray) has gone home to be with the Lord. I thank everyone who has called or texted; this is going to be a long road.”
Rolling Ray gained fame through his roles on MTV‘s Catfish: Trolls, Divorce Court, and Bobby I Love You, Purr, alongside his viral social media content.
He also pursued music, dropping tracks including Look At Me, Gun Action, and Thank You.
Despite his TV appearances and music endeavors, Ray reportedly didn’t accumulate substantial wealth, reports the Mirror US.
He was also a passionate activist, notably participating in BLM protests on the front lines, earning widespread online recognition for his advocacy. Ray has been hailed as a “great example of how the internet has redefined success and fame in current generations,” by Marca, who penned a tribute to the star after his passing.
The site further stated, “As the tributes come in, one thing is certain: Rolling Ray’s impact goes beyond net worth. His life and career are evidence of the strength of being unapologetically real in an internet era that all too often celebrates conformity.”
In response to his passing, fans flooded social media with heartfelt tributes. “Are u f—ing serious? I’m so sad now. Rip queen,” wrote one Instagram user.
Another follower expressed their condolences on one of Ray’s posts, writing, “Awwww, rest in peace! Thank you for your entertainment.”
A third admirer remarked, “D—. I tried to wait this one out, praying it was another rumour. Rest in Peace to the most famous boy in a wheelchair.
“We came together and showed the world how two different people from 2 separate paths in life can put hate aside and create magic.
“You are loved all over the world, and you will be missed dearly. Spread your wings and fly, my iconic friend, Rolling Ray.”
