Tom Holland thinks producers got ‘sick’ of him bringing fans’ ideas into Spider-Man 4 meetings

Tom Holland reckons Spider-Man producers got “absolutely sick” of him bringing fans’ ideas into development meetings for Brand New Day.

The British actor, who has starred as the web-slinging superhero in three standalone films, had a much greater involvement in the development process for his fourth solo outing.

Holland revealed to LADbible that he went on deep dives on the Internet to see what fans wanted, and those ideas were his “driving force” in development meetings.

“I have been actively sifting through the internet and trying to best understand what it is that the fans want from a Spider-Man movie, and that’s been my driving force in these pitch meetings,” he shared. “I think the producers, at times, were like, absolutely sick of me, but I think it’s really important, because we make these movies for (the fans).”

He added, “What’s been really fun about this most recent movie is designing the suit and being a part of that process and understanding what we wanted to try and achieve.”

The third film, 2021’s No Way Home, concluded with Doctor Strange casting a spell and erasing Peter Parker/Spider-Man from everyone’s memory.

In Brand New Day, Peter is trying to leave Spider-Man behind and focus on university. However, when a new threat endangers his friends, he must break his promise and suit up again, teaming with an unexpected ally to protect those he loves.

Holland began filming the latest instalment on the streets of Glasgow, Scotland, which is filling in for New York City, at the start of August.

The movie is due to be released on 31 July 2026.
