If there’s anyone who knows how to deliver a top-tier haunting visual, it’s Lady Gaga.

Following her highly-anticipated cameo in the second season of Netflix’s Wednesday, Gaga is back for more with her new single, “The Dead Dance,” which was specifically created for a special episode of the hit Addams family spinoff series. In episode seven of season two, the students of Nevermore Academy attend their annual fundraising gala. Without spoiling too much, the quasi-prom also serves as a last hoorah of sorts for Wednesday’s roommate Enid Sinclair who performs a choreographed routine to the song at the tail end of the episode.

For the official video component for the new track, Lady Gaga enlisted Wednesday showrunner and renowned director Tim Burton to direct the visual, which saw the singer and her crew of dancers take over the real-life Island of the Dolls in Xochimilco, just south of Mexico City. Lady Gaga is dressed as a doll herself for the music video, wearing Victorian-inspired underpinning and styling her hair in tightly coiled curls as she twirls around the island with dozens of abandoned baby dolls watching her every move. In-demand choreographer Parris Goebel crafted the intricate dance moves displayed in the new video following her collaboration with Lady Gaga for her fan-favorite “Abracadabra” visual earlier this year.

While “The Dead Dance” serves as a one-off single made solely for the Wednesday season two soundtrack, Lady Gaga has kept busy onstage in recent weeks while on the road for her sold-out Mayhem Ball tour. Her seventh studio album, Mayhem, has been acclaimed by longtime fans and served as a sonic return to her traditional dark-pop roots.
