Mumbai: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has lauded Kalyani Priyadarshan’s latest film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, describing it as a captivating fusion of “mythic folklore” and “mystery”.
Lokah has become a box office success, with Kalyani and Naslen playing the lead roles. In the film, Kalyani portrays a superhero. The movie is produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s production company, Wayfarer Films.
The Malayalam film is set to release in Hindi today.
Taking to Instagram, Alia Bhatt shared her excitement about the film’s Hindi release, writing, “Such a fresh blend of mythic folklore & mystery! So happy to see the love it’s getting. This is a step in cinema that I will always be eager to show my love & support for!”

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar also offered his full support for Lokah — Chapter One: Chandra ahead of its Hindi version release.
On his official social media handle, Akshay praised Kalyani Priyadarshan’s performance and also acknowledged the talent of her father, renowned filmmaker Priyadarshan. He wrote, “Talent runs in the family…suna thaa, ab dekh liya! Hearing lovely things about the brilliant acting chops of @kalyanipriyan, Priyadarshan Sir’s daughter. My best wishes to her and the entire team of #Lokah on their Hindi version release. More power.”
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have a long history of collaboration, having worked together on hit films such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. More recently, the actor-director duo reunited for the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, their first big-screen collaboration in 15 years.
The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani, among others.
Furthermore, Akshay is set to feature in Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Haiwaan, alongside Saif Ali Khan.
In addition to Alia Bhatt and Akshay Kumar, several other celebrities, including Ishaan Khatter, Rashmika Mandanna, and Sharvari, have come forward to praise Lokah — Chapter One: Chandra.
