Jennifer Lopez is facing criticism from all sides as she struggles to deal with life post-divorce — and an insider tells National Enquirer that the “Let’s Get Loud” singer is potentially thinking about leaving the “toxic world of Hollywood” behind.
“Jen wants to move abroad because she’s fed up and ready for a brand new challenge,” an insider says. “She’s always had this fantasy of getting away from it all and living a quiet life somewhere totally off the map, like Bali or even a small town in Italy.”
“No one has ever taken her seriously because she always talks about it as this sort of bucket list thing she wants to check off ‘one day,’ versus really wanting to do it ‘now,’” the insider tells the National Enquirer.
However, the insider explains that Lopez, 56, has “suddenly gotten very serious” about moving out of the States and has “even started looking at real estate options.”
“She’s been so beaten down the last couple of years,” the insider adds, saying that her split from ex-husband Ben Affleck “is at the heart of it.”
While the Maid in Manhattan star would like to “run away from the pain,” she’s also upset by the way others in the industry have been treating her.
“Five years ago, when she was getting all that praise for Hustlers, she felt like the days of being looked down on by her peers in the industry were over, but that hasn’t proven true at all,” the insider says. “If anything she feels more like an outsider than ever.”
One example? Luis Guzmán’s recent shady comments, in which the Wednesday actor merely described his Out of Sight costar as “OK” during an appearance on the Hot Ones YouTube show despite gushing over other actresses he’s worked with.
“She’s pretty bewildered and feeling like there’s no point even trying to impress these people anymore,” adds the source. “She’s over it.”
