Chicago was transformed into a disco during Dua Lipa’s opening night of the U.S. leg of the Radical Optimism World Tour.
Fans were already in awe of the “Houdini” singer, 30, during the Friday, September 5, show, but they went into an uproar when she introduced her surprise guest … the one and only Chaka Khan.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but please give it up for Chicago’s finest, the queen of funk, Chaka Khan!” Dua said into the microphone while introducing the 10-time Grammy-winning artist, 72.
The band started playing the groovy intro to Chaka’s hit song “Ain’t Nobody” as she walked on stage and joyfully waved to the crowd. Chaka looked fabulous as she donned curve-hugging leather pants that featured a fringe outline. She paired the bottoms with a semi-sheer beige top that dazzled with black sparkly embellishments.
Chaka’s outfit complemented Dua’s ensemble as she rocked a sparkly black blazer, fishnets and a massive feathered boa.
The divas lit the stage up during their rendition of “Ain’t Nobody,” where Dua joined Chaka after she kicked off her hit song.
Chaka shared a clip of the joint performance via Instagram, immediately leading fans to experience major FOMO.
“Chaka lit up Chicago tonight with a surprise appearance at @dualipa ’s show,” the caption read. “They brought the crowd to its feet with a powerful performance of ‘Ain’t Nobody.’”
Fans praised Dua for choosing the “I’m Every Woman” singer as her special guest, showcasing her musical versatility.
