Charlie Sheen is getting candid about his sexual encounters with men for the first time – a decade after revealing his HIV diagnosis in a TV interview.
The Two and a Half Men actor’s new Netflix documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, sees the star reflecting on his rise to fame and his public downfall through a seven-year sober lens.
The 60-year-old’s life story is explored through his own voice, while viewers are also set to hear anecdotes from his second ex-wife, Denise Richards, two-time Oscar winner Sean Penn, and comedian Chris Tucker.
Sheen’s brother Ramon Estevez, his third ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, and ‘Hollywood Madam’ Heidi Fleiss, whom the actor testified in court to have bought prostitutes off, have all gained credits on aka Charlie Sheen, which is set to premiere on September 10.
Among other bombshell revelations, Sheen opens up about his intimate experiences with same-sex relationships for the first time.
In a move he classed as ‘f****ng liberating’, the father-of-five said that drug-taking and having sex with men initially went hand-in-hand.
“I flipped the menu over,” he said in both his Netflix documentary and his new book, The Book of Sheen.
When asked how it felt to be talking publicly for the first time about having sex with men, Sheen said: “Liberating. It’s f***ing liberating … [to] just talk about stuff. It’s like a train didn’t come through the side of the restaurant. A f***ing piano didn’t fall out of the sky. No one ran into the room and shot me.”
According to the sitcom actor, his sexual experiences ‘started’ when he began dabbling in using crack.

“That’s where it was born, or sparked. And in whatever chunks of time that I was off the pipe, trying to navigate that, trying to come to terms with it — ‘Where did that come from?…Why did that happen? — and then just finally being like, ‘So what?’ So what? Some of it was weird. A lot of it was f***ing fun, and life goes on.”
During his drug-fueled exploits, Sheen contracted HIV — a virus that attacks the body’s immune system and can, without treatment, lead to AIDS, as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
It’s understood that people who stayed at his home overnight would see his medication, take snaps, and blackmail the celebrity into giving them money.
According to People, Sheen did cave into these devastating demands before revealing his HIV diagnosis on the Today show in 2015 — putting an end to any further extortion.
Of the virus, Sheen is adamant that he has never knowingly ‘passed it on’ to any of his sexual partners.
The Mad Families star has also used an interview with People to give the lowdown on his love life.

Sheen, who has been married three times, told the outlet that his romantic life has been ‘uneventful’ for ‘a long time’.
“It wasn’t even by choice, but the girls [daughters Sami and Lola Sheen] moved in with their mom [Denise Richards], and then when they moved out, the boys [twins Bob and Max Sheen whom he shares with Mueller] moved in, and there wasn’t enough room in the car,” he explained.
“Plus, I spent so much time and energy chasing that for so long. I had to get to a place where I could be alone, but not lonely.”
He added: “But I am open to love again. Probably not marriage, though!”
Charlie Sheen’s new memoir, The Book of Sheen, is published on September 9.
