Escape Room spawned a sequel in 2021 called Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, which sees the main characters, Zoey (Russell) and Ben (Logan Miller), trapped in a new series of more deadly escape rooms. The film grossed $66 million but received mixed reviews from critics, who felt that it didn’t live up to the expectations set by its predecessor. As such, talks of a potential third movie have stalled, but with the original gaining a new audience on streaming, those conversations might be revived.
