SALINA, Kan. (KWCH – A major development project will be presented to Salina City Commissioners on Monday, September 8 that aims to bring golf and entertainment to the area.
The $146 million proposal known as “Destination Salina” is described as a mixed-use development opportunity.
The proposed entertainment district would be located near Central Mall at the intersection of Ninth St. and Magnolia.
According to the renderings shown in the meeting agenda, the facility would feature golf bays, mini-golf, a restaurant and open-turfed areas to sit.
The project would be a public-private partnership with funding mechanisms including STAR bonds, transient guest tax, community improvement district, tax increment financing and sales tax exemption on construction materials.
The Salina City Commission will hear this presentation during the regular scheduled study session Monday afternoon.
