Food, dance, music to celebrate Hispanic heritage at Cannon Beach event

El Centro NW, in collaboration with the Cannon Beach Hispanic Soccer League, is hosting a Hispanic heritage celebration.
The event will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Cannon Beach City Park.
Rocío Lizárraga Simmons, a member of the board of El Centro NW, is enthused.
“This free, family-friendly event will showcase the rich culture and traditions of the Hispanic community with live music, dance, and authentic cuisine,” Simmons said.
Highlights of the evening will include a performance by Folklórico Dance Group “Mestizo”, featuring vibrant traditional dances, and live music by Panchito Aguirre y su Mariachi Chapala, bringing the sounds of Mexico to the Oregon Coast.
Guests will have a chance to purchase a variety of Mexican food.
“This event is about honoring Hispanic heritage while bringing together families, neighbors and visitors to celebrate through music and dance,” Simmons said. “We invite everyone to join us in this joyful celebration.
