Get ready Dancing With the Stars fans—season 34 is almost here!
After months of wondering when the hit competition series would come back to TV, fans will get to see the latest installment of DWTS beginning Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+. With 12 new celebrities ready to hit the ballroom, it turns out they’re not the only fresh faces folks will meet this season.
As Dancing With the Stars revealed in a surprise announcement, a new pro will be stepping onto the dance floor on season 34. The person joining the DWTS family is none other than dancer Jan Ravnik, who Taylor Swift fans may recognize from being a dancer on her iconic Eras tour. And if that’s not enough, he’s super excited to be part of the show and showcase his talent for everyone to see every Tuesday night this fall.
“Hey Dancing With the Stars family!” Jan shared in an Instagram video posted on August 28. “My name is Jan Ravnik, and I am a new addition for this season, and I’m very excited.”

While not much is out there about Jan’s childhood, TV Insider writes Jan moved to the United States from Slovenia in 2015 in order to pursue a career in professional dancing.

Ahead of moving to the U.S., Jan managed to collect an impressive catalog of accolades within his profession.
According to Us Weekly, the competitive dancer received a number of National, European, and World championship dancing titles. The outlet also notes he won Best Dancer of Slovenia twice and received an award for Best Trainer/Choreographer from the Slovenian Olympic committee.
Who has Jan Ravnik danced with in his career?
Over the years, Jan has been a dancer for singers like Paula Abdul, Bruno Mars, Lewis Capaldi and plenty more. But there are two major musical artists Jan has built his career around—one being Mariah Carey and the other being Taylor Swift.
When working with Mariah, Jan was part of the group of dancers who appeared on stage during her Merry Christmas to All tour in 2022. He also appeared in a McDonald’s commercial with the superstar, along with being featured in her 2021 Apple TV+ holiday special, Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues.
But perhaps what he’s most well-known for is for being a dancer on Taylor Swift’s long-running The Eras tour from 2023 through 2024. Additionally, he was featured in both Taylor’s The Eras Tour Movie and the music video for Taylor’s 2023 single “Karma (feat. Ice Spice).”
Despite traveling all over the world, Jan shared how grateful he was to experience being a dancer on the biggest concert tour in the last few years.

I never thought that small town boy from Slovenia could come so far, but here we are 🙋🏻♂️🥹.”

On September 3, fans learned that Jan Ravnik will perform alongside Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jennifer Affleck on Dancing With the Stars season 34.
The two have been busy preparing for the September 16 premiere on ABC, and they’ve been creating lots of social media content to showcase their partnership. And while the couple’s first dance is being kept under wraps, Jan and Jennifer gave a sneak peek on what’s to come this season.
“I think Jan is forgetting I just had a baby 🤣💀 @dancingwiththestars,” Jennifer joked in the caption for a behind-the-scenes Instagram video on September 6.
