He might be best known as the star of the James Bond franchise,but actor Daniel Craighas had quite a prolific career. But long before he was known for being a movie star, he was a kid who went to the movies — one who got a little freaked out by a movie that has scared more than a few little ones who may have watched it too young!
Recently, the British Film Institute shared a clip from their December 2024 conversation with Craig on TikTok where the actor revealed the one movie that left him “scarred” for life.
During the conversation, Craig admitted that Jaws is the movie that really got under his skin as a kid… possibly because he saw it for the first time in theaters at the tender age of six.
“I’m scarred to this day,” he said. “All I remember is literally kicking the guy’s seat so hard in front he left.”
Jaws, which was first released in 1975, has been known as a pretty terrifying flick even for some adults, but for young kids? It’s easy to understand why the movie about a man-eating shark left Craig a bit freaked out!
Years later, Craig would end up working with Jaws director Steven Spielberg himself while filming the 2005 movie Munich, and discovered that he likes talking about his past projects, even though he did feel “very nervous” talking film with such a legendary director.
“He liked to talk,” Craig said. “He loved to talk about old movies … watching the biography pic [The Fabelmans] he did, I knew most of those stories because they were kind of interwoven into his career.”

Elsewhere in the BFI chat, Craig admitted that it was a bit “terrifying” working with Spielberg at first.
“I think, rather brilliantly, he doesn’t give you an awful lot,” he said. “He arrives the day before shooting and he leaves the night of. It’s something from Jaws, I think it’s some tradition he had. So you don’t see him.”
Once he began shooting first scene in Munich, he felt a bit intimidated, but he hung in there.
“It was like, ‘I’ve arrived, OK?’ And you’re just like, ‘Oh my God!’” Craig added.
