In a collaborative post with a notable fashion icon, Margaret Zhang, the “Adorn” singer revealed he secretly welcomed a daughter a year ago as he celebrated her first birthday.
This comes two years after he finalized his divorce with actress Nazanin Mandi, with whom he had shared a 17-year relationship.
Their years-long relationship was devoid of children and appeared to be one of the most peaceful separations ever.

In a bubbly Instagram post, the singer shared a photo of himself carrying his daughter, whose face was blurred, along with the caption, “Our baby turned one today!!!!” Referring to Margaret Zhang as “our” with whom he collaborated on the post.
He showered love on the one-year-old Angelito, gushing about how he and Zhang are proud to be his parents.
It wasn’t just a post to announce his daughter to the world. Miguel revealed that he has just released a new song he wrote for her, hoping it reminds her of how loved she is. The song was also directed by her mother, Zhang.
“Papa wrote you a song, hope it always reminds you of how loved you are,” he wrote in his caption as he nudged everyone to listen to it and cry.

Aside from being Angelito’s mum, Zhang is an iconic fashion professional who started blogging at age 16 and has since worked with global brands such as Dior, Gucci, and Uniqlo, among many others.
According to Business of Fashion, she is the founder of “Shine by Three,” and aside from fashion, she is also established in photography, styling, creative directing, and consulting.
Zhang, however, rose to prominence when she was named as “Vogue China’s Editor-in-Chief” in 2019, marking her first appointment outside the traditional media world.
With many awards to her name, including being inducted into Forbes 30 Under 30, Zhang has a thriving social media space with almost a million followers on Instagram and has a trademark of being a successful influencer and brand strategist.

Before the “Sure Thing” singer’s relationship with Zhang, he was with model Mandi for almost two decades. Their relationship started when they were both 18, and Mandi had been with Miguel since before he became a household name.
The lovebirds tied the knot on November 24, 2018, after 10 years of dating, but three years down the line, they announced their separation.
“After 17 years together, Miguel and Nazanin Mandi have decided to separate and have been for some time now. The couple both wish each other well,” the statement read.
Despite announcing their split, they were still spotted together romantically, giving people mixed signals until late 2022 when Mandi finally pulled the plug, filing for divorce as reported by The Blast. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason.

The news of the divorce came as a shock to many, as Miguel and Mandi had a beautiful relationship that began with a pick-up line.
Mandi, being expressive, gushed over how it was what kick-started their relationship. After asking the “Sky Walker” singer if he had a girlfriend, he gave a mind-blowing response, saying, “No, but I’m looking for one.”
The actress met Miguel on the set of his first music video, “Getcha Hands Up,” and the rest is history.

As reported by The Blast, the on-and-off divorce process finally came to a close in July 2023.
Given the couple had no kids, their divorce wasn’t complicated, and they only needed a signature from the judge to go their separate ways.
As for spousal support and separation of assets, the former lovers had an iron-clad prenuptial agreement. In a motion submitted in court, Miguel revealed that he and Nazani “entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their marriage … including support, the original of which is being made or has been submitted to the Court.”
Although details of the agreement remained undisclosed, it is believed Mandi negotiated something substantial for herself in the divorce settlement.
