Thomas Skinner, who is best known for appearing on The Apprentice, is one of the 15 celebrities taking part in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing
Each year, just a fortnight before the famous faces make their debut on the Strictly dancefloor, the BBC assembles them for questioning by journalists.
This cheerful gathering occurs in the identical location annually – a space adjacent to Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire where filming takes place – and consistently resembles speed-dating as the personalities are shuttled between tables to chat with various entertainment media groups.
When the five-minute alarm sounds, they’re promptly moved along to the next bunch, frequently whilst still speaking.
The Mirror’s TV Editor, Nicola Methven, explains what happened at this year’s event, which saw one contestant storm out abruptly.

I recall attending the inaugural launch, where beloved Brucie battled to comprehend what Tess Daly was telling him (he eventually adapted to her Bolton dialect). However, in the 21 years following that 2004 moment, I’ve never witnessed a celebrity dep.art the official BBC launch… until today.
Thomas Skinner, a previous The Apprentice participant who frequently concludes his remarks with “bosh”, entered the space appearing rather cheerful with the other stars, acknowledging us with casual waves and grins, reports the Mirror.
He settled down and spoke with one journalist group, providing them with the necessary five-minute chat. Yet upon reaching the second table, he stayed merely moments before mumbling ‘I’m not doing this’.
Getting to his feet, he simply departed. Following the incident, the journalists at the table he’d left were left puzzled as they insisted they hadn’t said anything to upset him.
However, an onlooker commented: “He got the hump. He snatched up one of the phones on the table and said he didn’t want to be recorded then he just left. We don’t know what annoyed him. It’s a mystery.”
Thomas, a right-wing pillow salesman from Essex who is known for his constant praise of Donald Trump and JD Vance, probably thought it was all too “woke” for his liking. But if he can’t handle a one-hour interview with a group of showbiz reporters, it’s questionable how he’ll cope with the weekly demands of Strictly training.
Known for his active social media presence, this morning he posted one of his ChatGPT-style speeches where he stated he wouldn’t “say things just to keep people happy like others do”.
“I’ll say what I believe in, even when it’s not easy – because that’s what we need more of in today’s world,” he asserted. However, when it came down to it, he backed out. Better luck on the dance floor, mate.
