Coheed and Cambria have announced a deluxe edition of their latest album, Vaxis – Act III: The Father of Make Believe. The expaned release, titled The Father of Make Believe: The New Entities Edition, arrives October 3rd.
The band also shared one of four new songs included on the expanded release, “Key Entity Extraction: Yuko the Trivial.” Each of these four tracks introduces another character, or entity, into Coheed’s Vaxis / The Amory Wars saga. Lore and world-building aside, the song itself is quite accessible sonically and stands on its own as a bite-sized nugget of melodic pop rock.

The deluxe edition of The Father of Make Believe is available on vinyl as a 2-LP pressing and comes in two colorways — “Quintillian Blue” and “Purple Optic Distortion” — each limited to 1,500 copies. You can pick those up via the band’s website.

Meanwhile, Coheed are currently on the road as they continue their co-headlining tour with Taking Back Sunday. The trek is highlighted by a sold-out gig at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Friday (September 12th) and runs through a final gig in Los Angeles on September 23rd.
