Hulu has released the trailer for its upcoming heavy metal docuseries Into the Void, which premieres September 22nd.
The series, named after a track from Black Sabbath’s Master of Reality, is composed of eight episodes that profile various metal musicians, as well as significant events throughout the genre’s history including the story of Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads, Judas Priest’s infamous suicide-pact trial, the murder of Pantera’s Dimebag Darrell, the pioneering career of Death’s Chuck Shuldiner, and more.
The trailer offers teasers from each episode, as well as clips of the famous interviewees who appear throughout the docuseries such as Sharon Osbourne, Pantera’s Phil Anselmo, Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, and guitarist Zakk Wylde, to name a few.
The official synopsis of the docuseries reads: “Into the Void is a groundbreaking documentary series that explores the epic struggles and the cultural impacts made by Heavy Metal’s most compelling artists. Their intensely personal stories about finding success offer an intoxicating combo of volume and distortion delivered via pulsating tales of murder, addiction, rebellion and redemption.”

Heavy Metal Docuseries Coming to Hulu in 2025
The series is being helmed by executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener, the co-creators of the pro-wrestling docuseries Dark Side of the Ring, which debuted in 2019, becoming Vice TV’s most-watched series of all time. Guillermo Garcia and Barry Davis of Vice Studios Canada also serve as executive producers on Into the Void.
