It’s time to refresh your playlist with some exciting new releases!
This New Music Friday of mid-September is packed with notable releases that kept us moving all weekend. Opening our weekly roundup is Ed Sheeran with his highly anticipated eighth studio album, Play, out now via Gingerbread Man Records and Atlantic Records. Drawing inspiration from global influences, including Persian and Indian elements, the album was preceded by several singles, among them the global hits “Sapphire” and “Azizam.”
Twenty One Pilots return with their eighth studio album, Breach. Released via Fueled by Ramen, the LP serves as the climactic conclusion to their long-running conceptual narrative that began with Blurryface (2015), continued through Trench (2018), Scaled and Icy (2021), and Clancy (2024).
Former Little Mix member Jade Thirlwall steps into the spotlight with her debut solo album, That’s Showbiz Baby!, released through RCA Records. Spanning 14 tracks, the album draws influences from Diana Ross to club culture and early 2000s X Factor auditions. It was supported by four singles—“Angel of My Dreams,” “Fantasy,” “FUFN (Fuck You for Now),” and “Plastic Box”—which set the bar high for the project.
Noteworthy releases also come from Demi Lovato, Chaeyoung, Young Thug, King Princess, Polo G, Kli Uchis & Ravyn Lenae, Djo, Damiano David, and more.
