Love stories. From fairy tales to television sitcoms, who doesn’t like to see couples falling in love, especially the couples that you thought will they or won’t they get together?
According to Marie Claire fashion magazine, Wilmington-shot “One Tree Hill” has among the best romances in TV history with characters Haley and Nathan (played by Bethany Joy Lenz and James Lafferty).
“One Tree Hill” featured many dramatic pairings. But at the center of it all was Haley and Nathan, also known as Naley, (played by James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Lenz), writes Katherine J Igoe. Their relationship was grounded and mature — still considered one of the strongest in teen TV history.
“One Tree Hill” was filmed in Wilmington for a decade and aired from 2003 to 2012 on The CW. It can currently be streamed on HBO Max and Hulu.
Bethany Joy Lenz, known for her role as Haley James Scott in “One Tree Hill,” was named Queen Azalea 2025 for the North Carolina Azalea Festival. Lenz lived and worked in Wilmington for years as a star of the series.
