Toni Cornell, daughter of late Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, has released the new song “Campari,” the latest stand-alone single from the young singer-songwriter (stream below).
Upon first listen, “Campari” gives off vibes of M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes” and Lorde’s “Royals.” A press release describes the song as “a slow-burn with a propulsive chorus that fuses eloquent penmanship with glittering art-pop.”
Toni, who is about to turn 21 and is currently enrolled at NYU, began singing at a young age, following in her famous dad’s footsteps. She released the single “Far Away Places” in 2019, and in the past year unveiled the songs “Sunset of Your Love” and “Little Bitch.” Toni has also covered such tunes as Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike,” Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” Pearl Jam’s “Black,” and others.
