Ego Nwodim is the latest member to announced their departure from “Saturday Night Live” amid a major cast shakeup.
Nwodim said she has “decided to leave” the iconic late-night sketch comedy show “after seven unforgettable seasons” on her Instagram story Friday, Sept. 12.
“The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight,” the 37-year-old opened with.
“I am immensely grateful to Lorne [Michaels] for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship,” Nwodim wrote. “Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories, and that laughter, with me always.”
The actress then concluded her announcement with a joke by saying, “now invite me to your weddings please!!!”
Nwodim first joined “SNL” for the show’s 44th season in 2018. Some of her most popular characters include her Dionne Warwick impersonation, Veronda — the “rich auntie with no kids” — and Lisa From Temecula.
