Universal’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie returned atop of the Official Film Chart, the U.K.’s weekly home entertainment sales chart, through July 22.
The former chart topper in June, the animated family adventure held off the transactional debut of A24’s box office sleeper hit Backrooms, which debuted at No. 2. Universal’s Obsession continued its strong chart run at No. 3, followed by 20th Century Studios’ former No. 1, The Devil Wears Prada 2, which dropped to N0. 4.
Lionsgate/Universal’s Michael Jackson music biopic Michael dropped one spot to No. 5, with Warner’s Lee Cronin’s The Mummy rising three spots to No. 6.
Signature Entertainment’s The Good Boy also returned to the Top 10 at No. 7, followed by Warner’s Mortal Kombat 2 (2026), which remained at No. 8.
New at No. 9, Lionsgate’s martial arts thriller The Furious, which generated almost $40 million at the global box office, including $6.5 million across North American screens.
Rounding out the Top 10 is EIV’s The Magic Faraway Tree, the family fantasy based on Enid Blyton’s novels. Following a family who discover an enchanted tree filled with magical lands and eccentric characters, the film generated $32.1 million at the international box office. It has not been released across North American screens.
