School’s back in session at Godolkin University and big changes are in store this semester on Gen V. In Season 2 of The Boys spinoff, Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam (Asa Germann) are campus stars, Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan (London Thor/Derek Luh) and Emma (Lizze Broadway) return scarred from last season, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas) has revenge on his mind and a new dean (Hamish Linklater) arrives with powers and plans of his own.
However, the biggest shift is the absence of Andre Anderson, played by Chance Perdomo, whose tragic death in 2024 leaves both the series and its cast forever changed. Despite no longer appearing on Gen V, Perdomo has a big impact on Season 2. Here’s everything you need to know.
What was Chance Perdomo’s cause of death?
Chance Perdomo, 27, tragically died in a motorcycle accident on Friday, March 29, 2024. He was the only person involved in the crash. According to a story inDeadline, he was riding through Upstate New York when the accident occurred. Perdomo was on his way to Toronto for a table read for Season 2 of Gen V with filming scheduled to begin on April 8, 2024.
Is Gen V replacing Chance Perdomo?
No. Shortly after his passing, Gen V producers confirmed in Variety that the character of Andre Anderson would not be recast, stating, “No one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.”
How is Chance Perdomo’s death remembered in Gen V?
Gen V showrunner Michelle Fazekas told EW at San Diego Comic Con 2025 that Season 2 is meant to honor Perdomo. “I remember being in the writer’s room and talking about how important it was to honor him,” Fazekas said. “And then when you watch the show, he exists throughout the entire season. It was, in many ways, about Andre and about Chance. And, yeah, I’m very proud of that actually.”
What was Chance Perdomo’s last role?
Andre ended up being Perdomo’s final role before his death. Prior to Gen V, he was most well-known for his role as Ambrose Spellman in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He also appeared in all three of the After film series.
