- Two British men have died at the hotel this month.
- Ibiza Rocks Hotel has cancelled its upcoming music events following two deaths in two weeks.
The San Antonio venue broke the news on Instagram yesterday, July 21st, explaining that, “given the seriousness of the situation and out of respect for all those involved,” the advertised events programme will be paused at this time. This means that forthcoming shows with Dizzee Rascal, MC Kie and others will no longer go ahead as scheduled.
Gary Kelly, a 19-year-old man from Dundee, died after falling from a third-floor balcony at the hotel yesterday. 26-year-old Evan Thomson from Aberdeen died in similar circumstances on July 7th. Further details on the incidents remain unclear, but in total four people have died from a balcony fall at Ibiza Rocks this year alone, Daily Mirror reports.
Ibiza Rocks, launched by Andy McKay and Dawn Hindle of Manumission, celebrated its 20th anniversary this summer. The venue has played host to the likes of MK, Fatboy Slim, Dua Lipa, Rudimental and Jax Jones over the years.
