Haley Welch, the viral TikTok sensation better known as the “Hawk Tuah” girl, has officially broken her silence and baby, she did not hold back. In a rare serious video that’s already racked up more than 450,000 views on her TikTok, Welch stepped into territory she openly admits she doesn’t like: politics, tragedy, and the dark side of social media. And she did it in her signature raw, no-filter style.

Welch starts her video with a confession: she usually avoids “serious” topics because, well, that’s not her vibe. But after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, gunned down in front of students and his own family, she said she couldn’t just sit in silence.
“I don’t really give a shit who I offend when I say this,” she declared, immediately setting the tone. “For some people to get on this app and applaud another human being being unalived in front of his family is fucking sick. You’re a sick fucking individual.”

“You didn’t have to agree with anything that man said,” she explained. “But you should have a little bit of sympathy for his wife and kids that were there with him.”
In other words: Haley was demanding that people stop acting like politics cancels out compassion.
A Call-Out on America’s Divide
Welch didn’t stop there. She zoomed out and blasted what she sees as a much bigger problem, how quick Americans are to divide and dehumanize each other.
“What you people don’t realize is we are more alike than we are different. We all bleed the same fucking color at the end of the day,” she said. “That’s one of the biggest problems with this country right now. Y’all wanna divide so bad. Why?”
Her frustration was palpable, and she made it clear she sees social media as a breeding ground for cruelty rather than connection.
From National Tragedy to Everyday Safety
In a sharp pivot, Welch also linked Kirk’s killing to broader violence in the U.S., referencing the viral stabbing of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska on a Charlotte light rail.
“A woman should be allowed to go anywhere she wants to by herself and should not have to fear for her life,” Welch said, her voice breaking slightly at the thought.
This moment gave her video a uniquely female lens, pointing out that women are disproportionately reminded of how unsafe the world can be.

And in true Haley Welch fashion, she closed the video unapologetically. “I don’t really give a fuck who I just offended. I don’t care. Unfollow me. It’s not that big of a fucking deal. Bye.”
But before signing off, she issued one last challenge: “Let’s start showing a little bit more compassion around here and being a hell of a lot nicer. And if you just can’t seem to do that, then you have the fucking day you deserve. The chickens will be coming home to roost for your ass. Good day.”
