Billie Piper has hinted at an upcoming “musical” film project.
The accomplished actress and singer from Swindon discussed her new venture in an interview with Glamour, hinting at a movie that combines her acting and singing talents.
Speaking to the magazine, she said: “I’m probably not going to go back into music but I’ve been thinking recently about how I could merge the worlds.
“I love dancing, and want to find if there is a way for me to dance and sing but not live, and have it sort of married with a movie.
“So basically a musical.”
She further revealed her plans to direct a film next year.

She told Glamour: “I’ve just written a film that I hope to direct next year.
“It’s heavy but I want to score it with dance music.
“To me, there is no difference between dance music and classical music except the beat.
“It still moves you in the same way.”
This new project seems to be a perfect fit for Piper, who has a rich history of success in both music and acting.
She first rose to fame as a pop star, before moving on to acting, where she has had great success in series like Doctor Who and I Hate Suzie.
She is also part of the cast for season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday, where she plays Capri, a werewolf and musical teacher.
In the interview, she also reminisced about her time at performing arts school, which she says ignited her passion for singing and dancing.
She said: “It was so fun.
“I remember being in awe of the talent, especially the vocal ability.
“We only had to do school work for three days a week and the rest of the time it was singing, dancing and acting.”
Born in Swindon, Billie Piper grew up in the area, attended Bradon Forest School in Purton before moving to London at the age of 12.
She starred as Belle de Jour in the drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl, as Brona Croft in series Penny Dreadful and as Karen Mars in Netflix Original series Collateral (2018), for which she was nominated for a British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress.
As a proud “Swindon legend,” she has supported local causes, including the Swindon Advertiser‘s bid to save the Oasis Leisure Centre.
