A chill in the air, the first snowflakes of the season—fall brings so many signs that winter is almost here, but perhaps my favorite thing about fall is that it’s ski film premiere season.

Although social media has drastically changed the landscape of ski media and we no longer really have to wait to see last season’s biggest sends, there is still something magical about watching ski movies on a big screen, in a theater full of people, to get excited for the upcoming season. For as long as ski films are premiering on big screens, you’ll find me there watching them.

Along with the few companies still putting out a feature-length film each year, lots of production companies and brands are opting for tours that include several short pieces.

So whether you’re looking for 50 minutes of non-stop ski action or a collection of short films to scratch that ski media itch, there’s probably a tour out there for you.

Here’s a roundup of the major production companies and brands taking their films on tour this fall and where to find them.

This list may be updated.

Salomon’s Quality Ski Time film tour returns this fall. The brand used the acronym from their incredibly popular line of QST skis to entice folks to come out and watch ski movies on the big screen. This fall, each tour stop will feature a screening of Blank Collective’s new films, including Cold Calls and One Step Ahead, as well as The Edge of Reason with Cody Townsend and Nikolai Schirmer, and Into the Wild South with Andrzej Bargiel and Jedrek Baranowski.

Salomon’s Quality Ski Time tour is always high on the list as the films range from good, old-fashioned ski action to flicks that will have you laughing til you cry to thought-provoking films that also happen to feature skiing. The Salomon team will also be giving away awesome prizes from Salomon, GoPro, and other partners.

A classic on the fall film-tour circuit is none other than Warren Miller Entertainment’s annual film. This year, the legendary film company will premiere its 76th annual flick, Sno-Ciety. There’s no doubt that watching Warren Miller’s yearly feature film on the big screen is one of the best ways to get psyched for the ski season.

This year’s flick features riding from athletes like Daron Rahlves, Britta Winans, Breezy Johnson, Chris Rubens, and even a surf segment from Judd Henkes. Sno-Ciety was filmed in Mammoth Lakes, Tahoe, Austria, Scotland, Denver, Steamboat Springs, Diamond Peak, Tuckerman Ravine, and more epic spots.

Girl Winter

Tour Locations: Park City, UT; Jackson, WY; Victor, ID; Denver, CO; Boulder, CO; Steamboat, CO; Fort Collins, CO; Missoula, MT; New York City, NY; Vail, CO; Basalt, CO; Crested Butte, CO; Silverthorne, CO; Montreal, QC; Boston, MA; Ketchum, ID; Portland, ME; Burlington, VT; Portland, OR; Madison, WI; Seattle, WA; Minneapolis, MN; Bozeman, MT; Duluth, MN; Bend, OR; San Francisco, CA; Tahoe, CA; Jeffersonville, VT; Boise, ID; Anchorage, AK; Bellingham, WA; Vancouver, BC.

The all-female production studio behind Advice 4 Girls has brought back their Girl Winter film tour for 2025. The tour comprises short films that showcase almost entirely female athletes (some films have male athletes as well, but always female protagonists) and are often made by female creatives as well. Tired of only seeing the occasional woman in ski films, the Girl Winter team sought to give female ski-film enthusiasts a night where, instead of waiting to see someone who looked like them on screen, they were given tons of different examples of female professional skiers.

Tour stops will show Mimic, featuring and directed by Piper Kunst; Trails Still Blazing, featuring Megan McJames; Queen of the Catskills, featuring Julie McGuire; Dear Superhero, featuring Janina Kuzma; That One Friend, featuring Sierra Schlag and Waverly Chin; and Let My People Go Skiing, featuring and directed by Ellen Bradley.

Matchstick Productions

Tour Locations: Crested Butte, CO; Denver, CO; Breckenridge, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; Boise ID; Vancouver, BC; Anchorage, AK; Whistler, BC; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Bend, OR; McCall, ID; Tahoe, CA; Bozeman, MT; and more.

Matchstick Productions is another classic ski film production company that has put out an annual feature film for more than 20 years. Some of the biggest names in skiing, like Mark Abma and Michelle Parker, have been filming with Matchstick throughout their entire careers and have racked up tons of iconic film parts. Matchstick’s 2025 annual film is titled After the Snowfall, and as always, it looks unbelievably epic (truly, just the trailer has our jaws on the floor).

The film features the skiing of Mark Abma, Dennis Ranalter, Logan Pehota, Craig “Weazy” Murray, Janelle Yip, Jonathan Rollins, Nico Porteous, Jess Hotter, Finn Bilous, Ben Richards, Tonje Kvivik, Marcus Gougen, Nadine Waller, Coline Ballet-Baz, Michelle Parker, Caite Zeliff, Sam Cohen, Xander Guldman, Sam Smoothy, Karl Fostvedt, Parker White, Nikolai Schirmer, and Jacob Wester.
