TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The 13th annual Tyler Film Festival recognized several talented filmmakers and actors from across the state and around the globe on Saturday.

The Latest: The Emmy Awards honor the best in television

Audiences and filmmakers gathered at Liberty Theater in Tyler on Saturday for this year’s award ceremony. Awards were given out after two nights of screenings for student independent films from East Texas, the wider United States and from as far away as Serbia and Iran.

“These are creative people that we have coming together, so they always have ideas that they’re throwing around and it’s kind of cool to hear all the conversations going on, all the different projects that people are working on,” Tyler Film Festival director Craig O’Daniel said.

The following awards were given out at the Tyler Film Festival on Saturday night:

  • Jury Award / Best of the Festival ($1,000 and a trophy) – Champions, directed by The AG Brothers of Nevada.
