Sofia Vergara was sent to the hospital instead of the 2025 Emmy Awards.
The “Modern Family” star had to miss the award ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 14 because of an eye allergy.
“Didn’t make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER,“ Vergara, 53, wrote in an Instagram post. ”Sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye [allergy] right before getting in the car!”
Vergara’s post included a photo of the “Griselda” star with her left eye noticeably red and swollen, her laying down on a hospital bed and flushing her eye out with water.
“Oh no! Get well soon,” Terry Crews commented Vergara’s post.
“Uncommon to have allergy in one eye only,” model Linda Evangelista wrote, “A derm can help.”
While Vergara wasn’t nominated for any awards, she was meant to be one a presenter. She also wasn’t the only star to miss the ceremony.
“Euphoria” star Eric Dane, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in April, wasn’t there to present either. His “Grey’s Anatomy” costar Jesse Williams presented the award for Outstanding Directing in a Drama series on his own.
