President Donald Trump is heading across the pond this week. And first lady Melania Trump will be right there by his side.
The royal family has confirmed on social media that Trump, 79, and his wife, 55, are heading to the U.K. for a “State Visit” with King Charles III.
“This week, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will undertake their second State Visit to the UK,” the Instagram post on Monday, September 15 reads. “Their first took place in 2019, as guests of Queen Elizabeth II.”
As the Instagram carousel reveals, Trump’s visit will include:
A Carriage Procession through the Windsor Estate to Windsor Castle
A Ceremonial Welcome in the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle
ADVERTISEMENTA visit to St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, during which Trump and the first lady will privately lay a wreath on the Tomb of Queen Elizabeth II
A Beating Retreat ceremony on the East Lawn at Windsor Castle, concluding with a flypast by F35s and the Red Arrows
A State Banquet with speeches from the King and Trump
Charles III, 76, has been the news of late following another high-profile visit. His son Prince Harry recently stopped by the U.K. It was their first meeting in 19 months.
On September 14, The Guardian shared insight from Harry, 41, as he traveled to Ukraine. He reflected on his visit home and suggested it may pave the way for his family to spend more time in the UK in the months ahead. According to Harry, the time he just spent in the UK has “brought that closer” to becoming a reality.
Monday marks Harry’s birthday. Before he was born, Princess Diana actually carried a huge secret she chose not to share with then-Prince Charles. As People reported in 2019, she believed he might not have welcomed the truth she had discovered months before their second son’s arrival.
“I knew Harry was going to be a boy because I saw on the scan,” reads an excerpt from Andrew Morton’s Diana: Her True Story in 2019, that was written with Diana’s secret collaboration. “Charles always wanted a girl.”
