It’s been quite a while since Euphoria last graced our screens with new episodes for its second season, but fans will have to wait just a little longer to join Rue (Zendaya) and crew back at HBO as Season 3’s arrival looms in the somewhat near future.
As we await the third chapter of Sam Levinson‘s teen drama, we’re breaking down everything we know so far below, including when it’s most likely to arrive, and other exciting details. Scroll down for a closer look.
Is Euphoria Season 3 filming?
According to Variety, HBO & Max’s Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys confirmed during a presentation in November 2024 that Euphoria Season 3 was set to begin filming in the new year. “We are shooting… I think we have a start date, mid to late January. Nothing’s changed,” Bloys reassured reporters, noting that Euphoria is still on the way despite conflicting rumors about it meeting an early end. “I have read the scripts. We’re happy. We’re moving ahead,” Bloys added. Euphoria‘s Season 3 production was confirmed on February 10th as the show’s official account posted on X (formerly known as Twitter). “#Euphoria Season 3 is in production,” read the caption alongside a Season 3 still of Zendaya’s character, Rue.
When Will Euphoria Season 3 Premiere?
According to Bloys, who spoke to Deadline at the 2025 Emmys in September 2025, Euphoria Season 3 is currently slated to arrive in the spring of 2026 with eligibility for next year’s Emmys window.
Will Season 3 Be Euphoria‘s Last?
In an interview with Variety in January 2024, Bloys said, “Obviously, the cast have all become stars, which you love to see — and Zendaya is obviously a big movie star… So, there is a practical reality to that.” But, according to Bloys, it really depends upon Levinson, who is at the helm as the show’s creator, writer, and director. “He’s in the thick of writing Season 3 right now, and we’ll leave it up to him and have those conversations about what he wants to do,” he added.
Who stars in Euphoria Season 3?
According to Deadline, the official casting for Season 3 will see Zendaya return as Rue alongside other original cast members Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow. Also set to return, per Variety, is Dominic Fike. Additionally, Colman Domingo will appear in a guest star capacity. Season 2’s Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have both been upped to series regulars, with Adewale-Ainnuoye-Agbaje and Toby Wallace joining.
Guest stars who will make their Euphoria debut include Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Kadeem Hardison, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, and Anna Van Patten. Meanwhile, it was teased by The Hollywood Reporter that Sharon Stone might be joining the mix in a yet-to-be-revealed role, which has since been confirmed.
“There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent. From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric,” Stone shared in a statement posted on Euphoria‘s social media pages.
Former star Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat, announced she wouldn’t return for Season 3 in August of 2022, and Angus Cloud, who played loveable drug dealer Fezco, died in 2023, confirming his absence from the season. It has since been revealed by Storm Reid during a red-carpet appearance that her character, Gia, would not return for the upcoming chapter.
What Will Season 3 of Euphoria Be About?
It’s unclear what the storyline will be for Euphoria’s third season, but considering it’s been more than two years since Season 2 debuted, the aforementioned time jump feels like a necessary story device to explain the actors’ aging in real-time. Additionally, the show will likely have to explain Cloud’s absence as viewers last saw him being detained as his baby brother figure Ashtray (Javon “Wanna” Walton) was seemingly shot by authorities. Only time will tell which direction the team behind this series chooses to take.
