Comedian Nikki Glaser brings her Alive and Unwell Tour to the region this weekend.

She performs today at 7 p.m. at the Santander Arena in Reading and Friday at 7 and Saturday at 7 and 9:30 in Marian Anderson Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia.

The veteran, highly acclaimed performer is known for her shockingly honest, no-holds barred style. She hosted this year’s Golden Globe Awards and was named New York Times Comedian of the Year for 2024. She has starred in two successful HBO standup specials.

The 78th annual Oley Valley Community Fair runs today through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., at 26 Jefferson St., Oley, Berks County.

Shows in Reading

Comedian Dusty Slay comes to the Santander Performing Arts Center in Reading Friday at 7 p.m.

Slay is a self-effacing Southern comedian with a knack for observational, blue-collar humor and the nerve to say what everyone else is thinking.

The Grammy-winning group Los Tigres del Norte will perform at the Santander Arena Saturday at 8.

Called “the most influential regional Mexican group” by Billboard and “the genre’s greatest statesmen,” by The New York Times, Los Tigres Del Norte remain one of Latin music’s leading creative and socially outspoken voices with a strong following of fans.

Montco Jazz Fest

Family circus

The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus comes to the Schaeffer Auditorium at Kutztown University in Berks County on Saturday at 5 p.m.

The troupe re-creates American circus/vaudeville performances popular circa 1900, including juggling, sword-swallowing and other feats of derring-do.

It is the first show of this season’s KU Presents Family Series and is aimed to entertain children and adults alike.

Guitarist Andy Summers, formerly of the Police, performs Friday at 8 in the Sellersville Theatre, Bucks County.

Summers has been active in the music scene since the late 1960s and has made his mark as one of the three members of the Police, as a solo artist and as a writer, photographer, composer and producer. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Film festival

Shocktoberfest

The Shocktoberfest Haunted Scream Park is open for the season in Sinking Spring, Berks County.

The event includes a variety of haunted attractions along with shows, games, music and food. A family-friendly experience is available between 5 and 7 p.m. for children 12 and under.

The park is located at 94 Park Ave. along Route 422 west of Reading. It is open Fridays and Saturdays in September; Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October; and Nov. 1, 7 and 8. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 5 to 9 on Sundays. Learn more at www.shocktoberfest.com.

Fiddle Fest

The Berks Fiddle Fest will take place Sunday at Fleetwood Park in Fleetwood, Berks County, starting at 9 a.m. and continuing through the afternoon. Attendees can just listen to the many performers or bring their fiddle and jam. Learn more at fleetwoodparks.com/.

Sports cards memorabilia

The Philadelphia Sports Collectors Show, the nation’s longest running sports cards memorabilia show, will be at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Montgomery County, Friday through Sunday. Hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 to 3 on Sunday. Professional athletes and celebrities will be there for autograph signings and photo opportunities.

Keswick Theater events

Girls Gone Bible comes to the Keswick Theater in Glenside, Montgomery County, on Friday at 7 p.m.

Girls Gone Bible is a faith-based podcast popular with people across the religious spectrum. Hosts Angela and Arielle cover topics such as faith, mental health, relationships and life in general, and they bring it all back to Jesus. In addition to leading heavy hitting conversations. the two make for a ridiculous comedic dynamic duo. Audiences laugh and cry at the same time.

The Keswick hosts “Welcome Back My Friends — An Evening with Emerson, Lake & Palmer on Saturday at 8.

The show features drummer Carl Palmer, the lone surviving member of progressive rock legends ELP, along with his current band. The late Keith Emerson and Greg Lake are presented via video footage.

People’s Light

Kathryn Grody’s “The Unexpected 3rd” runs at People’s Light in Malvern, Chester County, through Oct. 19.
