Following the release of her sultry song ‘Easy Lover‘, from her ninth album ‘Something Beautiful’, Miley Cyrus has now announced another single to be released the week.
The singer, who also treated fans to a Something Beautiful film this year, has revealed her latest single ‘Secrets’, which is the first music for a new album, will be released on Friday.
Taking to social media to tease the new song, Miley previewed a short clip of the song telling her fans in the caption: ‘Secrets out Friday.’
The post quickly gained likes and comments with many fans writing messages such as: ‘So excited for this. ❤️❤️❤️’, and ‘So insanely beautiful, incredible vocals’.
Who inspired the song?
The song has been inspired by Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. In August this year, Billy took to Instagram to reveal that Miley had ‘given’ this song to him for his birthday. He wrote: ‘For my birthday, Miley gave me the gift of music and wrote me a song called Secrets and got my favorite musicians Fleetwood Mac to play on it! I love you Mile ❤️’. (sic)
Speaking on a podcast earlier this year, according to People.com, Miley said: “I wrote this song about my dad, because I wanted him to tell me even though there were secrets, even though I didn’t really want to know. I wanted to be the one he felt safe enough to tell me the things that were damning and damaging to the family. I wanted him to think that as a middle child, I’m old enough that I could take some of that.”
Who plays on the track?
Not only is this song inspired by Billy Ray Cyrus, two legendary musicians from the band Fleetwood Mac – Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood – also play on the song.
When is ‘Secrets’ out?
It will be released on 19th September 2025.
