The Charlie Kirk Show EP Addresses Recent South Park Episode Removal

In the wake of right-wing personality Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the media landscape has seen reactions on both sides of the spectrum. Jimmy Kimmel’s recent indefinite suspension from ABC’s late-night lineup is only the latest example, thanks to disapproval from select affiliate markets and the FCC.

But before all of that kicked off, an episode of South Park that effectively parodied Kirk’s persona was removed from Comedy Central’s rerun schedule. That move has now been met with disapproval from none other than The Charlie Kirk Show executive producer Andrew Kolvet.

Earlier today, he took to X to share his thoughts.

“Hey @paramountplus, as someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in South Park,” Kolvet wrote. “He told me many times. He would want the episode back up.”

Kirk, who was gunned down on September 10th during a rally at Utah Valley University, actually enjoyed the episode “Got A Nut.” Airing on August 6th, the second episode of Season 27 saw characters Clyde and Cartman lampooning the debate format that Charlie Kirk regularly engaged in.

Cartman’s physical look was also fashioned into a depiction of the Turning Points USA figurehead, which he adopted as his official social media profile photo. When speaking about the episode with Fox News, Charlie Kirk laid out his positive outlook on the matter thusly.

“I think it’s kind of funny and it kind of goes to show the cultural impact and the resonance that our movement has been able to achieve. So I look at this as a badge of honor,” Kirk said.

As of now, the “Got a Nut” episode is still available for streaming on Paramount+. Whether it will be returned to broadcast rotation on Comedy Central is unknown at the time of this writing. Meanwhile, new episodes will resume on September 24th at 10 PM ET, due to South Park’s recent episode delay.
